"MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho – U.S. Air Force officials say
the pilot of an F-15E Strike Eagle was killed when his plane crashed
Wednesday morning about 15 miles outside a base in Southwest Asia.
Another crew member was hurt in the crash and taken to a military medical facility for treatment of minor injuries.
“This is obviously a very sad day for the Gunfighters, as we mourn
the loss of one of our warriors,” said Col. Ron Buckley, 366th Fighter
Wing Commander in a prepared statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are
with his family and friends during this time.”
More than 300 Mountain Home AFB airmen are currently deployed to support F-15E overseas missions.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The name of the deceased pilot will be released by the Department of Defense after the next-of-kin have been notified." --KTVB News.
Please have them in your prayers and thoughts.... especially those here at home that may be going through emotional stress. Thanks.
